"What's Not Happening?"
Bruce Wark reports locally here:
"During a joint presentation to Sackville Town Council last week, Paul Henderson and Emily Falvey argued that investments in arts and culture pay huge dividends." Bruce Wark reports here:
Struts & Owens galleries call for more municipal investment in arts & culture | (warktimes.com)
“When a business thrives, you invest in it and a few people get richer,” Falvey [Owens] told council.
“When you invest in arts and culture, the entire community gets richer.” Really?
I would like to call bullshit on Emily Falvey's claim at Owens Gallery.. no one is richer for having moochers around... the moochers are just happier they were able to game the system and receive entitlement dollars from the casino bosses.
Are "the arts" really worthy of funding?
Are they a charity? a business? What?
Have your say... I say they are neither a business nor a charity.
They are active in the realm of social engineering and I find that offensive and objectionable.
Beauty is no longer the goal of the arts; manipulation is.
Social justice is their m.o.
If individuals wish to donate to their organizations by all means go ahead... and one of their 'talents' is writing grant money applications -- they are skilled at the grift.
I remain unimpressed with the grifting elitists in this town of entitled chattering class minions who live in a small cozy echo chamber. I can say unequivocally they do not benefit me, they have no desire to 'serve' me or include me... so why would I support them?
Moreover, 'we are being ruled by charities'...
They're pathetic begging for money. Sickening.
