"Sackville NB Community Chatter" on Facebook - Josh Goguen, Town of Tantramar Councillor Running Secretive Online Group?

Reposting this article was originally posted 4/1/2023....

What does Moneris employee and Scout Leader Josh Goguen really have to hide? Is Josh being ethical, moral and transparent in his approach as an elected Town of Tantramar Town Councillor? Running a private "gossipy" closed group .. why? Is he just the wrong guy now to be running this Facebook group online?  I think so..

"Josh Goguen:  Yeah, so I manage the Sackville Community Chatter page. I’ve been managing that for about two years now. And I just kind of throw all the information from the municipality and around Sackville. I did have some people question me—my integrity, basically—because they were worried that I was going to start blocking posts from other candidates and just kind of favoring myself. But no, there’s no bias, and there’s no moderation on the site. As long as it keeps the peace and everybody keeps civil, then I’m good. All other candidates and mayors, and I’ve even shared my own posts from other candidates on the site. And yeah, it’s all about getting the information out there and getting people to actually know what’s going on and get out and vote." see full article at this link:

Secretive culture in this online space is concerning.

since the original post was made... as I am unable to use Facebook and examine the postings there I would suggest the lack of transparency is a problem.  I also think that if Josh does not recognize that this is problematic he is in need of some training on ethics and morals ie. doing the right thing especially if he wants to hold himself out as an advocate for the general public.  If I cannot see the posts and others who are not on Facebook cannot see the posts and discussions there is cause for concern and perhaps also a conflict with his paid role as Town Councillor for $2,000 per month on government payroll.  Its worth mentioning if you are "allowed" into this group.
