"Energy East is a 4,500-kilometre pipeline that will transport approximately 1.1 million barrels of crude oil per day from Alberta and Saskatchewan to the refineries of Eastern Canada and a marine terminal in New Brunswick. There is an important choice before us all. That choice is about where we get the oil we need and how we choose to transport it. Energy East makes sense and this is why the majority of Canadians support the project.
Energy East is expected to create over 14,000 direct and indirect full-time jobs each year across Canada during development and construction alone.
During the first 20 years of operation, Energy East is expected to sustain nearly 900 full-time direct jobs across Canada, and thousands of indirect and induced jobs in all provinces along the route.
