"The Libertarian Party of Canada will hold its next national convention on May 2nd and 3rd, 2026, and this will be one of our most important gatherings yet.
This year, we are breaking with convention and expanding access. The event will take place simultaneously in Moncton, New Brunswick, and Airdrie, Alberta, with both locations connected by live audio and video. This innovative format is designed to make in-person participation possible for more members by reducing travel and accommodation costs. For those unable to attend physically, full remote participation via audio and video will again be available.
Registration fees are as follows:
- $99 for both days for in-person attendees who register in advance (by May 1st, 2026)
- $125 for in-person registration at the door (if spots are still available)
- $49 for online participation
Registration opens soon to accept payments.
Our conventions are not passive events. They are where members from across the country come together to debate ideas, set priorities, shape our platform, and determine the direction of the party. They are also where committed libertarians step forward to lead. Several positions will be open, and this convention is your opportunity to take an active role in building the party.
To be eligible to run for a position and vote, you must have been a party member for at least 90 days prior to the convention, meaning you must join no later than February 1, 2026. Lapsed members can renew up until May 2nd.
Canada needs a libertarian alternative more than ever. Millions of Canadians are worse off today than they were five or ten years ago, squeezed by rising taxes, endless deficits, central planning, and an ever-expanding regulatory state. Successive Liberal governments have pushed anti-freedom legislation and even crossed legal boundaries by invoking the Emergencies Act. The Libertarian Party of Canada has stood firmly against these abuses of power when others would not.
We are a small party, but we speak clearly, consistently, and without apology for smaller government, lower taxes, and individual freedom. Growth will not come from the sidelines. It will come from engaged members who are willing to show up, speak out, and help chart the path forward.
Join us at the convention. Make your voice heard. Help build a freer Canada.
