Environment Canada is forecasting a stretch of very cold weather for our area this weekend, January 24-25, 2026. Now’s a good time to prepare and take a few extra precautions.
A few reminders to help you stay safe in extreme cold:
• Dress in warm layers and cover exposed skin
• Limit time outdoors and take frequent breaks to warm up
• Check on seniors, neighbours, and anyone who may be vulnerable
• Bring pets indoors and ensure livestock have adequate shelter
• Make sure vehicles are winter ready and keep an emergency kit on hand
If you’re heading out, plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.
