There has recently been much debate and discussion within the libertarian world regarding “white nationalism,” likely due to the increased influence of the alt-right in libertarian circles. Many libertarians instinctively (and erroneously) associate any kind of “nationalism” with the nation-state, and in particular associate white nationalism with Klan-style lynchings and Nazi death camps.
