Has Society Lost Something With the Widespread Use of Cell Phones? Yes.

 Society is degraded by the widespread use of cell phone technology in a number of ways including:

1. people are less interested in conversations;

2. people are focussed on their little screens and miss things happening around them in the real world;

3. people are paying money to be monitored and tracked by devices they use;

4. people are unaware of their zombie state;

5. people have less privacy due to social media;

6. people are less inclined to put their phones away and just enjoy their surroundings...

all this I have witnessed in a small university town.

I do not have a cell phone.

What has occurred to society is called "cultural degradation"... a captive cell phone user population that doesn't realize its captive... does it?
