Update on my office day in Dorchester yesterday, December 16th:
It was a beautiful day to be in the historic village with the sun shining and temperatures allowing for sweaters instead of coats!
I started the day off meeting with the morning coffee crew that meets in the basement of the Veterans Community Center. We really just sat and talked for about a half an hour but some of the topics raised were around the old municipal office in Dorchester, the new fire hall that will be built within the next couple of years, and the future of the Dorchester Library.
After the coffee chat I met with two representatives from the Shepody IODE and spoke with them about municipal buildings and priority on maintenance and cleaning as well as the policies around nonprofit groups accessing those municipal buildings.
Even though it was a shorter day than I had anticipated with the special meeting of council that we had scheduled for later that day, it was a great day and I met some fantastic people.
I had originally said that I would work out of the Dorchester VCC one Monday a month starting in the new year but for at least the foreseeable future I will commit to working two Mondays of each month and I will have a better schedule once the new year commences.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and I wish everyone the very best in this upcoming new year!"
