"Emma Hassencahl-Perley is Wolastoqey from Tobique First Nation, NB... she currently resides in Fredericton working as an emerging curator at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, a casual instructor at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, and a practicing multidisciplinary artist.  Emma graduated from Mount Allison University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.  Her work critiques the relationship between Indigenous Peoples and the settler state and society of Canada.  Her work also explores legislative identity and her own identity as a Wolastoquey woman."
