"The voice missing always in these conversations online has been that of Fire Chief Bowser… I’ve heard too much from others, especially from those who follow the herd off the cliff in most situations. Fire Chief Bowser shows an honourable level of self control that most men and women in this town can only envy. The truth will come out on what is the root of all this firehall drama… and I’m here for it. Sorry to see young Justin Bowser being obviously pressured to leave his post with his Dad due to the local angry mob who in many cases don’t have the facts but believe in the gossip stories being spread around. For those who left their volunteer fireman positions with Tantramar — we’ll call them ” Laura Thurston’s flock ” — they are best replaced now. Adults discuss problems and try to make peace and seek a cordial work place. The public should try to be adults and not add to the problems at the fire hall and most importantly remember that Facebook is full of agitators and lying attention seekers who are best disregarded and best avoided for their small mindedness. Yes Christian Corbet this is a human resources matter and if Fire Chief Bowser was really the problem then he would have been fired long ago. There is a Code of Conduct but there is also a Code of Silence that exists here in an attempt to keep the peace and shield the public from bad behaviour… but if you asked the remaining team of firehall folks if life has been more peaceful for them since the departure of Thurston’s group I am sure they would say it has been like a whole new drama-free workplace. You can thank the ignorance and meddling by Bruce Phinney for a lot of this discord and angst.. he instigated and fomented it and was completely out of line as a duly elected long time Town Councillor for 20 years he should have behaved with more restraint and more self control. Bruce Wark’s reporting has been completely thorough.. so much so he has taken flack for it too.. but at least he bothered to do it."
