Meanwhile, in America today, big announcement:
Trump says US will pay fraud whistleblowers, and he'll decide who is paid
"Washington — President Trump on Tuesday announced the federal government will compensate whistleblowers who report people defrauding the U.S. government and taxpayers, but said he will decide who gets paid.
"I will be the arbitrator of all of these decisions," the president said during his Oval Office announcement with Vice President JD Vance, who heads up the administration's fraud task force, beside him. "In other words, I'll determine whether or not the person is deserving and I'll determine — and I will be very generous, believe me."
Through the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program, Mr. Trump said whistleblowers, who can be ordinary citizens, will be eligible to receive 1% of the amount of fraud they report, even if the reported fraud is $100 billion. America.gov/fraud, however, says successful whistleblowers will be paid up to $30,000, dependent upon the report resulting in criminal charges. Asked by CBS News for clarification, Mr. Trump said there is no limit to whistleblower compensation, and criminal charges aren't necessary. "

Jody Carr LinkedIn post this week here:
Such an exceptional week as New Brunswick hosted the National Roundtable on Inclusive Education, celebrating 40 years since Bill 85 passed in 1986, first grounding inclusive education in law in NB. So much to highlight but so little space. Hosted by Inclusion Canada, Inclusive Education Canada, Inclusion NB, with support from Inclusion International. Led by Dr. Gordon Porter with over 180 participants across Canada, including 28 researchers , plus educators, and teacher associations, and families , and advocates, came together to build a National Action Plan that will contribute to make best inclusive education practices more consistent in every school and every classroom across Canada. Also attending were special guests, Jamie Cooke CEO inclusion international and Dr. Joao Costa, CEO European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education. Premier Susan Holt, joined by Education Minister Claire Johnson and Social Development Minister Cindy Miles, made a significant commitment to build on New Brunswick’s global legacy in Inc/Ed over the next several years. She said her government will work hard so every student has the opportunity to learn and grow and succeed and belong. She said inclusion is about recognizing and valuing diversity in all forms, ensuring that we are building strong and inclusive learning environments with equal opportunities for students to reach their full potential. This is one of the most explicit commitments on incl/Ed I’ve heard made by a Premier anywhere in the World. Thank you Premier Holt. Inclusive Education is when all children learn together in common classrooms with their same age peers in their neighbourhood school regardless of differences in gender, race, culture or abilities. The classroom teacher is provided support to provide literacy, numeracy and inclusive education accommodations in the classroom and the school provides individualized intervention outside of the classroom when a student’s personalized learning plan requires support that can’t be provided in the classroom such as intensive literacy, numeracy, behaviour and interpersonal skills, quiet time, physio and other medical interventions, etc. What we know is this is hard work, dismantling 2 silo’d systems - one for disability and one for everyone else - into one new holistic, universal and integrated support model for inclusive learning. But the research is clear - it works when supported and is the best mode of learning that results in higher achievement for all with better social and economic outcomes for students and society. Let’s keep building inclusive schools , inclusive communities … everywhere! "
Happy to bump into Michael Fullan , systems change leader, who was down attending ARC - Atlantic Rim Collaboratory meetings in the same hotel as the national roundtable in inclusive education. When I was Minister of ED 2010-2013 I engaged M.Fullan to help us with systems change preparing for introduction of Policy 322 to narrow the gap in best practice for inclusive education in our schools. "
"About us
The Atlantic Rim Collaboratory (ARC) is a global alliance of education systems committed to advancing broad excellence, equity, inclusion, wellbeing, democracy and human rights within publicly valued and professionally led education. ARC brings together system leaders, policymakers, researchers, unions and practitioners to learn with not just from one another. Rather than benchmarking or competing, ARC members engage in deep professional dialogue, share policy approaches, visit schools in one another’s countries, and reflect openly on challenges and opportunities in education today. It is a space built on trust, respect and collective purpose. Participating Systems (2025) ARC currently includes education systems from: • Ireland • Northern Ireland • Scotland • Wales • Uruguay • New Brunswick (Canada) • Iceland Through ARC, these systems explore questions of leadership, curriculum, assessment, equity, teacher professionalism and the wellbeing of children and young people, all with the aim of strengthening education through shared learning."
