Skilled Tradesmen Wanted for a Building Challenge - Make More Beautiful Homes

Home Sweet Home...
and home is where the heart is...

The Hathaway.....

"be it ever so humble
there's no place like home.."

Housing is a TOP priority, its not a crisis...
but it is an opportunity.
Building good quality homes is good work,
valuable work, important work,
and much needed work.

Canada's population is growing rapidly and
this growth is due solely to unprecedented mass immigration programmes by the Liberal government...
we are now receiving
record - breaking levels of newcomers
and they are moving to Canada for a better life...
they will all need the security of knowing there is
somewhere for them to live.. and they will need jobs to support themselves and their families...
so now is not the time to complain .. it is a
good time to act and to put plans in place..
the housing solutions already exist and they
do not involve government overreach or meddling..
they involve government getting out of the
way of builders willing to get to work now..
encouraging development of single
family dwellings is good business
and should be encouraged and promoted.

Just imagine transforming the overall goal of the town by designing and creating and embracing a town culture that is completely and 100% focussed on creating homes that are an oasis of new "old time" neighbourhoods for today's new buyers in 2024 and beyond .. brand new neighbourhoods that reflect an old world charm and aesthetic... the "not too big not too small" homes.. created with cozy, welcoming designs that please the senses...

The Hillrose...1923 Sears Modern Home - Kit House - Hillrose - Foursquare Country House (antiquehomestyle.com)

Inspiration naturally comes from these older designs by "Sears Modern Homes" .. to help to encourage and bring about a much needed revival... valuing what matters.. as people who live in this town and enjoy a big heritage historic home must know.. there is a pleasure and joy that's undeniable and their's by virtue of the hard-work here of builders many years ago... "some people know the price of everything but the value of nothing".

Could you picture an enlarged residential landscape WITH completely new neighbourhoods that render something special for homebuyers that offered homeownership that was appealing and in keeping with the existing architecture of our old historic Sackville now Tantramar town ?  What would it look like?  A welcoming sight to see additional streets with "retro" homes for sale to add to the inventory of existing and desirable built-with-care beautiful homes from long ago times?  I think it would look amazing and pretty desirable... as there are many people seeking an escape from the city life .. they would they want to escape to this town for its beauty and welcoming old time charms... without a doubt - this is a special place.

The Honour... The Honor by Sears - 1923 Sears Kit Homes - Traditional Eclectic (antiquehomestyle.com)

Housing is essential .. beauty in housing matters.. and quality of living is a priority and a standard that improves the lives of families and young couples starting out together.. incentivizing the building of these homes by offering the contractors who build them tax breaks and permitting costs breaks - MAKING THIS A PRIORITY ...  Job creation, housing solutions, boosting economy, and quality of life.  Increasing housing stock inventory = winning.

BUILDERS WANTED!  BUYERS NEEDED!

for Two, Three, Four Bedroom homes for home buyers who value beauty and style.. and enjoying gardening in their own private residence.  Build it and people will come... if government can throw millions and millions of dollars every year at Mount Allison University for their pet projects .. I would sure love to see "seed money" to launch this idea!

Build more apartment buildings? Why?  Build back beauty... and a sense of place for a nod to the past and an eye to a more appealling housing future.

More here on the epic builds and how "war inc." sabotaged a fabulous industry:

"The End of an Era

In 1939, they reportedly sold around $7 million in Sears kit homes. A year later, the Modern Homes department had grown to 120 salespeople working out of 16 district sales offices. But preparations for World War II ended the enterprise in 1942, by which time the demand for lumber had exploded. Output simply could not keep pace.

The Supplies Priorities and Allocations Board intervened in 1941 with an order that curtailed nonessential construction. This meant homes could only be erected for employees in defense industries like:

  • Bomber plants
  • Aircraft plants
  • Shipyards
  • Tank plants"

"In 1940, Sears decided to close the Sears Modern Homes division. The last Modern Homes catalog was printed in 1940. Sales continued until 1942, and a few years later all records relating to the Modern Homes sales were destroyed when Sears decided to do some house cleaning. This was the end of the line of Sears mail order houses."
