What is a Big Society? A Common Purpose?

These terms might not be familiar to you but in England they are part of the inescapable landscape.  England was transformed years ago to a "police surveillance state" with cameras and snitch culture... I would not like to see the same thing happen in Canada but I do so see us heading that way very rapidly.
