As part of the transaction, former Global Payments CEO Jeff Sloan will join Moneris as Chairman.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, and is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of BMO and RBC’s fiscal year 2027.
Moneris recently laid the foundation for agentic commerce in Canada.
