I’m very concerned about the declining literacy scores we’re seeing in NB classrooms. NB’s PISA scores were 34 to 36 points lower in math, science, and reading compared to the rest of Canada. While I’m glad to see that the Holt government rolled back some of the AI curriculum they had planned, encouraging AI in classrooms while cutting library jobs is a step in the wrong direction for literacy. Right now, we need to support students and teachers with the right resources in our classrooms to provide a high-quality, inclusive education for every student."
