In July 2024, Cardy was arrested in Toronto for disturbing the peace after engaging in a confrontation at a pro-Palestine protest. According to Cardy, he chanted "Free Palestine from Hamas". Authorities stated that Cardy "behaved in a confrontational manner towards other protesters and did not follow police directions" to leave the area. He was released without charges.^[40][41]
