Got any ideas for art mural projects in our town?

More here on Moncton's art murals:

As "artsy fartsy" as this old town is you would really think there would be even just one mural on perhaps the grocery store grey wall facing Main Street across from the Post Office but alas... we are.. it would appear.. mural-deprived.  Pity.

Sackville Art Association - Local Group of Artists & Creatives

More here:  Local book will ensure history of Upper Sackville will be remembered » CHMA

"From the general store to the blacksmith shop, from the families and the stories dating back generations, the history of the rural community known as Upper Sackville has been brought to life by a local author and illustrator in a book set to be launched this Saturday.

Remember Us . . . a History of Upper Sackville, NB, a two-volume set featuring more than 700 pages, will be released this Saturday, March 21, during a special event from 2-4 pm at the Upper Sackville United Church. Written by Kathryn Fawcett Lewis and illustrated by Sharon L Hicks, two Upper Sackville ‘gals’ whose families have resided in the area since its earliest days dating back as far as 1765, the book was conceived when the two decided there was very little written record to be found on the origins, growth and development of the community.

After a year and a half of research, study, communications with a number of long-time residents and former residents, writing, drawing, and editing, this comprehensive record is now ready to meet the world.

The book features a comprehensive record of the area, consisting of historical details as well as stories and other information about the people who formed the backbone of this once fully self-reliant rural community.

Featured at the book launch will be the author and illustrator, as well as special guests Al Smith and Paul Bogaard representing the Tantramar Heritage Trust, David Mawhinney representing the Mount Allison University archives, and local historian John Carlisle. Signed books will be available for sale on site, as well as prints of some of the artist’s work. The two-volume set of coil-bound books sells for $30 per set."

The Art of Alex Colville - In Memorandum - Video at Indie Media Eastcoast Bitchute

Many Canadians grew up with an appreciation for this artist's work without even knowing his name... and I love that he has a deep connection with our town... and a place to visit to remember his works and his contributions to the culture and artscape of Canada.

Real Plastic Talks: Plastic The Villian or Plastic The Friend ?

Ongoing acts of plastic
display for art walks and talks...

The tendency locally seems to be by some to selectively villify plastic... but the reality is this is one of the most amazing human achievements we all benefit from.

Town's garbage bins made from recycled milk jugs.

The only thing better than plastic is recycled plastic!

Plastic the useful friend to humanity...

or as George Carlin would say:

"Earth with plastic!"

go ahead.. add to the collection

So why ban these materials we utilize? Control freakery mostly stemming from ignorance.

A Nova Scotia 'first' - home was built with recycled plastic bottles!

At this link:

Photo found online from:

See also local entrepreneur Macx:

Its good to think well of
the usefulness of plastic
as a human achievement.

If you ever have the chance to visit the UK's "Eden Project" their gift shop is huge and features all sorts of useful items made from recycled plastics and other materials... its located in an old clay pit re-invented into amazing gardens, exhibits and human friendly educational spaces.. especially loved the exhibit on Industrial Hemp... found in beautiful Cornwall in the south west of England and I highly recommend it!

The Eden Project <<<---- at this website...

I was fortunate enough to visit The Eden Project in Cornwall in June 2010 -- I recommend parents take their children there instead of a Disney-type vacation.

"Real wealth is energy plus ideas" - Bucky Fuller

Photo taken 2010 at the UK's "Eden Project" gardens and domes...

Footnote:

Plastic is a part of the lifestyle we know and love... its useful.. and randomly 'banning' some plastics is just ludicrous 'activism'.  Recycling is a huge opportunity to tap into untapped resources.

Thanks to Dave's Rock Emporium for display of plastic in varied colours...
hopefully people have a conversation about this topic of new technology, creative recycling, and real productive work...

more on plastic bans here:

Pulling together and using ideas and innovations is what will help humanity -- complaining about things and demanding things are banned is fascistic activity - is that the legacy you aspire to? Why?

"Never mind the bollocks" and continue celebrate plastic in your life.  It may seem the unpopular position but it is the right position...

Just remember that God loves you - find God.

See you around the town....

Young people should be educated about Bucky Fuller instead of David Suzuki - I have no idea why they are not taught about Bucky's life and work unless their Agenda is to dumb them down?
