"The Issue
The NB government need to make cutbacks with there 2026 budget and our school in Dorchester is one of the 3 schools they are looking to cut if they choose to do the cuts in education. If they close our school they will bus the students to salem elementary, marshview middle, memroncook or moncton. These school are already busting at the seams due to high population of children. So what can this mean? The children will be put into bigger classes and the ones that need extra help will fall between the cracks and there education will suffer. How do I know you may ask? I recently transferred my grad 2 student to Dorchester school and she is behind bc she was one falling through the cracks and not getting the help she needs. Since transferring to Dorchester she has been thriving because of lower numbers in the class so she gets more one on one that she needs due to a disability. Please sign the petition to keep our school open because our future generations need there education and schools should never be considered to be used for government cutbacks. Please share this far and wide so we can get as many signatures as we can. "
