Fire Chief Craig Bowser being witch-hunted by local press and Town Councillor Phinney?
More here:
and here:
The real tragedy in this town is the lack of effort to do the work and the projects that actually matter to the public.. a public witch hunt of a long time Town of Sackville Fire Chief is a really bad look here.
Come election time vote for people with integrity who have actually got unifying ideas and projects they are passionate about .. not bullying and drama.
Sackville UNcensored would like to publish for the record Chief Bowser's experiences with the volunteer firefighter staff at his workplace.. unfortunately.. the reality is that this situation is very complicated due to lawyers and management in the Town. I hope that others can refrain from gossip, social media misinformation, and use discernment as they read between the lines at this point and not fall for the mob tactics and their abusive behaviour towards Fire Chief Bowser.
As in every single municipality, the day to day operations of the municipality are given to the CAO by Tantramar council. They all signed on to an agreement that day to day operations are exclusively run by the CAO. Council should never get involved with staffing issues. This issue should remain outside the mandate of this, and future councils. The professionalism and expertise at the CAO’s level is much higher than an elected official. Council members are not staff members. They don’t run the local government directly , they give direction within their mandate to staff who execute the work. Just like council has no input in any hiring process other than the CAO. There is a lot of grandstanding here, assumptions, and dirty politics at work behind the scenes from a couple of rouge disgruntled members. Also, I disagree with expanding staff even more. We need less government, not more. We need taxation corrected and our money needs to be spent much better.
Imagine electing someone to argue for a plastic stadium chair one inch wider at over $500 a chair. Just to upgrade them. Wow. I bet that dude never bought a $500 chair for himself in his whole life, but tax money is fine.
The priorities of this council seem to stray quite far from providing core services and challenging the rubber stamp mentality of this council with our hard earned tax money."
