"My elephant in the room is the gas plant. I know that I am limited. We all are limited because it’s a provincial project, dealing with a crown corporation and a US multinational. But that doesn’t mean we have to be quiet about it. That doesn’t mean we have to accept everything that’s coming down the road. We can definitely push back. We can organize the community. We have a wonderful set of groups: PCIC (Protect the Chignecto Isthmus Coalition), Stop the Tantramar Gas Plant, Seniors for Climate. There are numerous other voices that are being heard. And now this project is having baby projects in PEI and Nova Scotia, so the movement’s getting bigger, there’s more Atlantic involvement. So those are my two issues. I wanna do what I can for openness, communication, and transparency, and to make Tantramar a place where everybody feels heard."

Newfoundland Health Minister John Haggie announces initiatives to strengthen health care [ CPAC 2021 ]

In St. John’s, John Haggie, Newfoundland and Labrador’s minister of health, announces initiatives to strengthen the health-care system in the province. The government will provide financial support for family doctors opening a new practice, create more collaborative team clinics, and expand virtual care. The province is also committing to increase the number of graduates from licensed personal care and nursing programs and to establish a health recruitment office.

A letter to Minister John Haggie share by a loving parent I'm writing as a very concerned grandparent with regards to the most recent letter that was sent home with my two grandchildren yesterday (ages 5 & . I can't express enough, how upsetting it was to read that children at these highly impressionable ages can be exposed to such a delicate subject. At this most innocent age, children should not be thrown into the political pot of sexual preference/s or identification. It is pure exploitation. There is a required vulnerability check on adults prior to be exposed to teaching/assisting children in schools but yet, our children can be exposed to drag queen visits in the name of "new normal and inclusiveness"? There is a multi level of mental health involved here (the drag queen's AND the children's) and the once safe school is not the right environment to permit these groups to express themselves at the risk of affecting our vulnerable children! Thankfully, there was enough consideration in place to require parental consent up to grade 6. There's possible hope! Alarmingly though, after grade 6 onward, no consent? Our EDUCATED officials need not be reminded that until age 18, children are in the direction, guidance, and care of an ADULT (aka Parents)! The frontal lobe development is a real topic that might warrant a revisit before our officials dictate a "no consent"go ahead to parents in the name of protecting CHILDREN! If this is truly all about ensuring inclusiveness, then that's not the way to balance the scales! What this is, is a drastic heavy tipping in the loss of parental power versus governing power. There is a master agenda that is hiding under the guise of inclusivity here. Inclusive can be defined by words such as fairness, equality, etc. This is anything but. This is deletion of the ability for parents to be what they were designed to be! There is no one more invested into a child's life than that of a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian. This is nothing more than a stripping of these rights and putting our most vulnerable (our children) at risk of a future that will inevitably be paved with despair. If mental health/suicide was considered at an all time high before, brace yourself."

Meet Dr. Roshni Kanji and Dr. Bruno Chiasson, a husband and wife physician team.. They are family physicians in the town of Sackville who play an important role in the overall wellbeing and quality of life of Sackvillians.

Locally Megan Mitton MLA Green Party appears to be a voice for the healthcare workers.. but is she really representative of their views and their needs?  I don't think so.

Do politicians need to focus on more issues?

Why would the fringe Green think they are authorized to speak for all healthcare workers when they are such a small part [3 seats in total] of the elected representatives in our Legislature?  If "fringe" seems unfair its not:

Megan Mitton is up against long time town Councillor Bruce Phinney for Tantramar [Conservative] this month.. as well as former town Councillor / former Mayor of Sackville John Higham [running for the Liberal party].  This race will be interesting to watch come election day as it is a battle of well-known and popular locals with many supporters and many vocal active campaign volunteers and helpers with a desire to push their candidate in this competitive space vying for the student votes at Mount Allison University [which has been key in the first election with Megan Mitton when she won by only 11 votes]. As a health advocate I am always surprised that Megan Mitton does not advocate for "farmacy" instead of "pharmacy" but she was bought and paid for years ago when she decided to become a politician rather than a sensible woman in Tantramar.  What's next for Megan Mitton after this election [if she loses]?

Meanwhile, as we head into an election its important to keep the importance of politicians in perspective and remember what is really worth prioritizing.. personal responsibility --
