Vision for Dystopian Future... Or Something Else? Who Else Thinks There Is A Better Way?

 

"You'll own nothing and you'll be happy".. or will you?  World Economic Forum certainly seems to think you will be far happier as a rental pleb.. 

surprisingly, the idea of 'smart'growth and "densification" has been embraced by the current Mayor .. but why? Is this a good idea for our fairly remote rural town established in 1762?

-- but is this really necessary when there is so much land available? Why do it?

Doesn't the current Mayor Black own his own home on some land with a garden and some privacy?  I have often wondered why people will promote a lifestyle they themselves would never choose.  For example, John Lafford has a beautiful home on some wooded land out by Silver Lake for his family.. so he isn't living in one of the concrete boxes he happily and profittably builds in town because he prefers his privacy and some room to move--as most would if given the choice.  But what if choice is being removed and eventually private property is abolished and a thing of the past?

Think that's fictional thinking? Think again.

The United Nations has very specific goals for all.

You can read more at her book that I found at the Mount Allison University library over a decade ago--I wonder if it is still there?  Tidewater Books were kind enough to order me some hard cover copies years ago for my home library... its a great resource to have and to share -- retain good books of value in your possession.  This book is where I learned about the "NGO" world and Cultural Survival cs.org.. and also the connections with Liz May, David Suzuki, Maurice Strong, et al -- its a very good read; Elaine Dewar did a great job documenting what she saw, heard and read.

In addition to profitting from "the densification" downtown the added bonus is gaining tenants that are government funded, such as a healthcare centre;

its a lucrative bit of work for the right sort of people.. in a uniquely beautiful and picturesque old, small town.

"Castle John & Mike" is coming along... forever [like it or not] changing the look of downtown of Sackville N.B.

If enough of this sort of "densification" takes place in the downtown - as it appears to be - I think we could easily rename the place "Tantramar University City" to better reflect the true vibe here.

If I had a say, which I clearly don't, I would love to see some time and attention put into planning more neighbourhoods, with parks, and more streets and subdivisions by the many well paid hapless planners employed by our government to "plan" our lives and our futures in the region.  More places for builders to build homes and more single family homes to add to the existing housing stock here.

and a reminder how little our governments care about "white" culture and history preservation at this point in time [as compared to spending endless millions on the preservation of 'indigenous' culture and history now or digging multimillion dollar ponds]... none of it makes any sense... and its not supposed to .. its supposed to divide society because if people are kept fighting over issues they cannot unite against their enemy or even recognize who their enemy is... an old tactic that happens to work very well [divide and conquer]:

After 10 years of trying to get a great concrete skatepark project for the youth to happen in this town I have realized just how lacking in ability to get real things done for the betterment of the people 'the management' in this town actually is....  Its unfortunate to see their incompetence.. and disconnected approach to their work is.. as they continue to grow their staff numbers each year they become less effective and less impressive, sadly.
