Tantramar's Ward 3 Town Councillor Josh Goguen is on LinkedIn "lol"

At this link:  Josh Goguen - Tantramar | LinkedIn

Questions about his curious activities online here:

Sackville UNCensored : What Does Josh Goguen Town Councillor of the Town of Tantramar Hope to Accomplish in His Private Group ONline?

Difficult if not impossible for me to monitor this group as I have no access to Facebook.  Its my hope that there are at least a few RCMP in there monitoring the chat and the gossip toads with Josh the local Scout leader.

An impressive increase in numbers from 1,400 to 6,800 followers/subscribers/supporters since first posting about this "closed" group in 2023... and as Goguen only very recently decided to remove himself as "administrator" of the group due to pressure on him about his "Code of Conduct" I have no reason to believe his ethics will improve anytime soon because you see having power to mute or remove commentary and steer the narrative in a private online group is a form of soft power and influence in the town.. whether you want to see it that way or not doesn't matter to me.. it is problematic, and no one is going to be able to deny or refute the reach Goguen has had here.

Josh Goguen is featured in the "solar panel news" with CBC News local Erica Butler this week here:

N.B. Power changes will have ‘negative implications’ for solar growth, says industry group | CBC News

"Gabrielle Goguen needed to find a new place to work.

She enjoyed running her tailoring business out of her home, but started finding it too easy to focus on things that weren’t running her business. And never mind the need to keep things immaculate for clients coming to the house for fittings and consultations.

But her search for commercial space was more difficult than she anticipated.

“ I looked for about six months, and I couldn’t find anything that sort of both fit the budget and the aesthetic that I was looking for. And when I reached out to John Lafford about the York building downtown, he was like, “Well, that’s already full, but I have this space next to a flower shop I think could work really well for you.”

But there was a problem—the building has three floors, with no way to separate them, so it was take all three, or take the basement."

Mayor and Mayoral Candidates in Tantramar Talking Up Things in 2026 and Beyond..

Andrew "Stolen Lands" Black Mayor of Tantramar is making plans.. that no one asked him to.. but.. there you are.

Andrew "Stolen Lands" Black on Facebook posts:

Former Deputy Mayor Estabrooks and I have had conversations over the last year with the groups involved in this project. I am over joyed to share this important press release about a proposed renewable energy project happening right here in Tantramar. "

"Land and Stewardship

The project is proposed to be developed west of Colville Village, alongside Cookville Road, on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Mi’kmaq people. Existing transmission infrastructure in the area makes Cookville a strong location to deliver clean, renewable electricity."

Whose land is this land anyway? Do you have any rights if your government has declared the supremacy of natives' land rights here? Please discuss.

As for these forced and problematic native "land acknowledgements" I can tell that it will not go well for the cowardly "whitey in Tantramar" in the future and here is why:

Michael Higgins: She heckled a land acknowledgement. Child services were sent after her

Andrew "Stolen Lands" Black is not to be trusted and should not be re-elected here.

More here:  Local book will ensure history of Upper Sackville will be remembered » CHMA

"From the general store to the blacksmith shop, from the families and the stories dating back generations, the history of the rural community known as Upper Sackville has been brought to life by a local author and illustrator in a book set to be launched this Saturday.

Remember Us . . . a History of Upper Sackville, NB, a two-volume set featuring more than 700 pages, will be released this Saturday, March 21, during a special event from 2-4 pm at the Upper Sackville United Church. Written by Kathryn Fawcett Lewis and illustrated by Sharon L Hicks, two Upper Sackville ‘gals’ whose families have resided in the area since its earliest days dating back as far as 1765, the book was conceived when the two decided there was very little written record to be found on the origins, growth and development of the community.

After a year and a half of research, study, communications with a number of long-time residents and former residents, writing, drawing, and editing, this comprehensive record is now ready to meet the world.

The book features a comprehensive record of the area, consisting of historical details as well as stories and other information about the people who formed the backbone of this once fully self-reliant rural community.

Featured at the book launch will be the author and illustrator, as well as special guests Al Smith and Paul Bogaard representing the Tantramar Heritage Trust, David Mawhinney representing the Mount Allison University archives, and local historian John Carlisle. Signed books will be available for sale on site, as well as prints of some of the artist’s work. The two-volume set of coil-bound books sells for $30 per set."

Gaspereau Press Moves into 7 Fleet Street Industrial Park Sackville New Brunswick

At this link "community news" from Mount Allison University's CHMA FM website:

Gaspereau Press preparing for spring releases in new location » CHMA

"Esteemed Atlantic Canadian literary publisher Gaspereau Press finally has a more permanent location in Sackville’s industrial park.

Though the move from the press’s longtime home in Kentville, Nova Scotia was first announced in June 2024, official transfer and ownership didn’t move to Sackville until January 2, 2026."

Sackville's Former Mayor Shawn Mesheau - NBCC Appointment July 2023

"We are setting the foundation for the generations to come. How exciting is that! Our population will be 9,100 and our tax base $1 billion" - Mayor Shawn Mesheau [Mayor of Sackville, New Brunswick]  ... more here:

Sackville mayor Shawn Mesheau looks back on an ‘interesting’ year, and looks forward to some R&R - Canada Info

and more here:  Governor Shawn Mesheau

"Position: Board Vice-Chair 2025-2026; Member of Audit Committee; Ex-Officio member of the Governance Committee; NBCC Alumnus

Date of Appointment:  July 2, 2023

Education: Certificate, Accommodation Food & Beverage Management, NBCC

Experience: Armed with more than 40 years experience and extensive background in food and hospitality, Shawn has built a successful career working in the food service, grocery, and purchasing industry.

Outside of his career, Shawn is a life-long volunteer, serving as a Municipal Councillor and Mayor of the Town of Sackville for 14 years; Chairperson of the Sackville NB Citizens Advisory Committee on Policing; Volunteer Firefighter for 10 years; Executive Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 (Sackville); and Chair of the Grants Committee. Shawn also serves as President of the Sackville and Area Housing Corporation, a non-profit that profit that provides safe and affordable housing units for residents of the Tantramar area.

Behind the Scenes: Shawn is the proud father of Luke, who is also an NBCC Alumnus. His wife Angela is a successful business owner in Sackville where each of them were born and raised. Shawn is a passionate Boston Bruins fan and enjoys building LEGO sets!

Shawn on NBCCWhen attending NBCC over four decades ago, in my mind its primary focus was technical training. To me, as I look back, it became more than that. I was provided the foundation and tools I needed to develop a career that allowed me to stay in my home province and raise a family.

Now as I look at NBCC and what it has become since then, I cannot help but be excited and smile. The growth and development of such a high-level institution has shown our province that NBCC can be many things to many people. To be able to give back to my alma mater as a member of the Board of Governors is a privilege. My hope is that NBCC will continue to grow and provide the level of education that is needed in New Brunswick for another 50 years and more."

"NBCC campuses are located on Mi’kmaq, Wolastoq and Peskotomuhkati homelands. Since 1726 this land has been subject to treaties that are still in effect today. We are grateful to learn together on this land and do so guided by the original spirit of those treaties - peace, respect and friendship."

A Small Town Witch Hunt in Sackville New Brunswick - The Targetting of Fire Chief Bowser

Fire Chief Craig Bowser being witch-hunted by local press and Town Councillor Phinney?

More here:

Former Sackville councillor calls for release of Montana report & suspension of fire chief pending results of investigation |

and here:

Sackville fire chief says firefighters are ‘tiring’ with record call volumes. Dept. is also under full strength |

The real tragedy in this town is the lack of effort to do the work and the projects that actually matter to the public.. a public witch hunt of a long time Town of Sackville Fire Chief is a really bad look here.

Come election time vote for people with integrity who have actually got unifying ideas and projects they are passionate about .. not bullying and drama.

Sackville UNcensored would like to publish for the record Chief Bowser's experiences with the volunteer firefighter staff at his workplace.. unfortunately.. the reality is that this situation is very complicated due to lawyers and management in the Town.  I hope that others can refrain from gossip, social media misinformation, and use discernment as they read between the lines at this point and not fall for the mob tactics and their abusive behaviour towards Fire Chief Bowser.

"Billy Boy says:

As in every single municipality, the day to day operations of the municipality are given to the CAO by Tantramar council. They all signed on to an agreement that day to day operations are exclusively run by the CAO. Council should never get involved with staffing issues. This issue should remain outside the mandate of this, and future councils. The professionalism and expertise at the CAO’s level is much higher than an elected official. Council members are not staff members. They don’t run the local government directly , they give direction within their mandate to staff who execute the work. Just like council has no input in any hiring process other than the CAO. There is a lot of grandstanding here, assumptions, and dirty politics at work behind the scenes from a couple of rouge disgruntled members. Also, I disagree with expanding staff even more. We need less government, not more. We need taxation corrected and our money needs to be spent much better.
Imagine electing someone to argue for a plastic stadium chair one inch wider at over $500 a chair. Just to upgrade them. Wow. I bet that dude never bought a $500 chair for himself in his whole life, but tax money is fine.
The priorities of this council seem to stray quite far from providing core services and challenging the rubber stamp mentality of this council with our hard earned tax money."

"About the artist

Ryan Danny Owen (they/him/her) is a non-binary award-winning author, researcher, queer archivist, and interdisciplinary artist based in Mohkinistis/ Treaty 7/ Calgary, Alberta. Their transdisciplinary work reexamines nostalgia, trans identity, longing, sexuality, and kinship by combining archival practices, installation, video, craft, and writing.

Utilizing process-based approaches, automatic response, and long-term relationships with materials to uncover ways of rendering the absent body, loss, and time. Their work deconstructs gay pornographic media as representations of intergenerational queer identity, constructing spaces through a fixation with artifice, manipulation, research, and experimentation. "
