I'll just be honest about it .. I have never been a fan of Matt Pryde in the over a decade he has worked in the Town Hall job because he has been ineffectual and tone deaf when it comes to listening, planning, building, and reading the room for youth who want a new great skatepark project built.

How about making SOME effort Matt? You're paid very well to do a job that seems to be about tree planting rather than recreational projects.. no one really needed a bunch of very expensive chairs at the ice rink but there you are doing a pricey project [rather than an elevator install] because you think you are good at deciding... but actually its just really wasteful... the benches were fine.. you could have done a much cheaper fundraiser selling chair seat pads with the Tantramar logo on them..  Matt Pryde is failing badly with an "F" here in Tantramar but he is paid well all the same.

You know what they say about skateboarders?

They're independant - skilled - fit - strong - nimble.

I guess we don't want any of those type of people?

Meanwhile in Mt.A-ville.. former Town Councillor and Rotary Club guy Bill Evans is marching with the giant flag of the year on a pole... Bill Evans was another apathetic boomer when it came to a new skatepark project.. too disconnected from the youth.

Pride flag raising in Tantramar happens in September. Why? So area residents and students can mark the day and celebrate together.

This year, our celebration kicked off Monday, September 21 with flag raising at Mount Allison and Tantramar’s municipal building, with a fabulous parade in between. And yes, Vogue by Madonna was blasted in live time.

The selection process for medical school admission is eroding. The quality of education once you are in is eroding as well.  Part of the reason for this is a focus on "social justice" at the expense of actual useful medical knowledge. Many of us have seen this happening for years, and have tried to call it out. We were pooh-poohed. Now the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada has said the quiet part out loud.  This is happening, and you should be afraid. Very afraid. Julie explains it well in this Substack.

The walls of free speech have been closing in on physicians for at least 2 decades. More and more we are told to blindly follow guidelines and directives in lieu of individual patient care and shared decision-making. Our medical regulatory colleges have demanded that we shut our mouths if we have any doubts about the public health response to COVID. Physicians who think that rushing a child who suddenly identifies as trans towards surgery and hormone treatments are told that their view is not acceptable. From "harm reduction", to abortion, to transgenderism, and COVID policy, many topics have become verboten to discuss - unless of course one is wholeheartedly on one side of the political spectrum, in which case they can safely proclaim their views loudly and publicly. Physicians with moderate views, or god forbid on the right, speak only in hushed whispers in backrooms and in anonymous chat groups with pseudonyms. This is NOT good for medicine and science. What if physicians were not allowed to criticize wanton opioid prescribing pushed by Big Pharma in the 90's? What if we were not allowed to suggest that thalidomide was causing problems in babies? Progress towards the truth is dependent on argumentation. This is not a "fringe" movement. Many physicians and scientists feel this way. The fact that few are heard is a function of fear and self-censorship, as well as media bias. My wife Julie Curwin and I have started a new initiative. FreeSpeechInMedicine.com was launched to push back against these forces conspiring to stifle debate. The Overton Window should not be a peephole. We hope that some of you can join us at our first annual conference Oct 28-30th in beautiful Baddeck, Nova Scotia. Details are on our website. We have an incredible list of speakers, and attendees. It will be well worth the trip."
