And more here [2008]: LeBlanc to run for Liberal leadership | CBC News
"LeBlanc said he thinks the party needs to reposition itself and become more centrist.
"Perhaps, in recent campaigns, we have drifted from that pragmatic centre of Canadian politics and we haven't given some of the traditional Liberal voting blocs an enthusiastic reason to support us," LeBlanc said.
LeBlanc also said the Green Shift — Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion's carbon tax plan — represented "a major challenge for us last time" and will not be part of his campaign."

Could Dominic Leblanc lead the party? Yes.
One thing we do know this week ... Justin Trudeau confirmed that he is not going to run for election again in his long held riding of Papineau PQ.. which is not surprising.. is it?
More at CBC link: Tom Mulcair, Justin Trudeau meet with Premier Rachel Notley
"The Alberta legislature was a busy place Saturday afternoon as federal NDP Leader Tom Mulcair and Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau paid separate visits to Premier Rachel Notley.
In a brief media availability after their meeting, Mulcair and Notley said they found common ground on issues of mutual concern, including energy issues.
"Our view is that we are an energy-producing province and we need to respect that and focus on developing that in a responsible way," Notley said. "Because jobs and job creation, not only for Albertans but for all Canadians, is critical."
Mulcair said natural resources need to be developed responsibly and said that value-added jobs "are the way of the future."
He said Canada needs a credible and open system of assessing the environmental impact of proposed projects.
"If we want to make sure projects can go ahead, we have to make sure that the process is fair and that people can feel confident in it," he said.
Trudeau did not hold an availability after his meeting with Notley.
Trudeau and Mulcair were in Edmonton to address the annual general meeting of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. Trudeau made a keynote address on Friday; Mulcair's turn came earlier Saturday afternoon."
