Academic Freedom to Discuss the Impact of Immigrant Diversity upon Canada

Here is the video of our presentation with Dr. Ricardo Duchesne and Mark Hecht. This was the event that drew targeted violent protest by militant groups outside of campus allying with the so called "Students Against Bigotry" (more like the "Bigots Against Studentry"). If you heard about the violent riot that ensued be sure to check out the presentation yourself and determine whether this event and these speakers warrant the violent borderline terrorist response that preceded it.
Ricardo Duchesne and Mark Hecht gave their opinions about Canada's current immigration situation as well as how immigration has been approached historically in other states. Regardless of their positions it doesn't seem at all appropriate to engage them with the level of vitriol that has permeated a lot of modern discourse.

The unnamed mob of people who online labelled Duchesne and Hecht " nazis " don't actually have a grasp on the term "nazi" which is a slur on "national socialist" . . . so it is incorrect and they are inciting the public against these two academics... I know Ricardo Duchesne and have read his three books and his website articles and I can advise the unaware and uneducated that I haven't found any NAZI advocacy in them .. so I have to wonder if the ones doing the shrieking and labelling and smearing of him have bothered to even read his books themselves? Are they educated and part of the UBC or just a 'community organization'?  I don't advocate national socialism on this blog... wake up eh?

Hello Everyone,

I will be giving a talk, along with Mark Hecht, at UBC this October 9. I was set to do a debate with Irvin Sudin but he started raising too many conditions which the student organizers could not meet. So the talk will be with Hecht (his article on negative side of diversity was taken out of Vancouver Sun) . 

Announcing this talk has been delayed because UBC administration has been setting up one obstacle after another, but Students for Free Expression had enough, will push ahead with the talk come what may. I will let you know soon details of the talk.
