Over on Main Street...

John Lafford's mid-rise apartment building is nearing completion.... there's no news yet on the name of his newest building of 71 rental units spread over six storeys with ground level parking located behind the old heritage home at 131 Main Street. Lafford on Facebook:  Lafford PM | Sackville NB | Facebook

I suggest the building be named "The Heidi" to honour John's late wife and mother of his four daughters who sadly passed away in 2023.  Builder John Lafford also has an impressive three tower build now under construction in phases located at 33 Foundry Street, in Moncton, New Brunswick called "The Three Sisters" at this link:

Three Sisters by Lafford Properties | Apartments in Moncton, NB

The new project that's on the go will create 80-90 rental units which we know will be rented out before this project even completes as demand is so high in Sackville New Brunswick for rental units.

Lafford's latest built is coming along and this project and it will provide 71 units of housing for some perhaps 100+ people ..
that is an impressive feat.

Losing Landmark Joey's Pizza & Pasta This Weekend... A York Street Favourite

Summer on the patio - photography by Indie Media Eastcoast

Will miss the smiles and waves from their customers on my walk by with the dogs at the windows of Joey's and on their wonderful patio... happy, friendly diners!

Tragedy at Easter -- a fire destroys a brick building downtown favourite restaurant and second floor apartments.

"Beautiful People in New Brunswick" Project with Indie Media Eastcoast since 2011..
see more here:

Patio life was perfected at Joey's..
Really hoping that their restaurant business re-opens in town in a new venue at some point in the future.. fingers are crossed!

Joey's on Facebook writes...
Our hearts are heavy today.
Joey’s has been a landmark of Sackville since 1988, and it’s because of the love and support from the community that we’ve been able to serve you for the past 35 years. We can’t thank everybody enough for all the love and support we’ve continued to receive today.
An especially big thanks to the Sackville fire department and all the fire departments from surrounding areas who came together to contain the fire. We’re very grateful that nobody was injured and all tenants made it out safely.
As we navigate this difficult transition one thing is for sure, we will keep the spirit of Joey’s alive as we move forward one day at a time."
