SAFS ~ upcoming events 2018 ~ Panel discussions
SAFS is co-sponsoring two panel discussions early in 2018. “Academic Freedom for Students” is the first, to be held 25 January, at Saint Mary’s University. Lindsay Shepherd and Saint Mary’s University Students’ Association President Ossama Nasrallah are the confirmed panelists at this time; two more will be announced soon.
“Freedom of Expression and Safe Spaces on Campus: Where Should the Line be Drawn?" is the second, to be held 9 February, at Mount Royal University (organized by SAFS member Frances Widdowson). El Jones (Nancy's Chair in Women's Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University), Jim Turk (Ryerson University and former executive director of the Canadian Association of University Teachers), Sinc MacRae (Philosophy at Mount Royal), and Kim Williams (Women's and Gender Studies at Mount Royal) are the panelists.
