Note that the cost of purchasing housing is still somewhat reasonable in this town [compared to cities] but the availability of rental housing is now extremely low and the number of units is very limited because you are competing with students from around the world for accommodation -- its a very tricky little enclave to do business in and you should really do your homework before investing in real estate or a business venture in this town.... its not as dreamy and idyllic as it appears on the surface.

Special Council Meeting - February 13, 2023 - Town of Tantramar
There is no end to the large sums of money being spent on 'pond projects' that are enriching predatory contractors here... the word is out ... easy pickins $$$ here in this town.
No one on the Town Council who was elected will question all this spending ... they are all just going along with it. Growing more government jobs for warm bodies on the gravy train? Yes.. but money that could have been allocated to a great concrete skate park venue for the youth is not a priority.
Letting the Town Hall know that you don't approve of all this multi-million dollar "endless ponds projects" spending really won't matter because they have their own agenda at "TantramarNB"... eh?
Property taxes are also on the rise here...

Sackville's Endless Drive to Build More Monuments [ Wasting Even More Money ]

Never let it be said that the 'community organizers' of Sackville have a problem wasting other peoples' money on stuff that clutters the landscape.
Just don't ask them to get excited about building an Energy East Pipeline or Skatepark Project... God forbid their efforts should be for something beneficial and useful for the people alive today.

Why do they hide their monument to the founder of the local University behind a wall of shrubs and trees? Just asking for a friend.

Just to put things into perspective around here and for the record:
One old woman stands before council and mayor this year and says she wants to see money given for a monument to be built and everyone says 'hey great idea!'... but in 2013 over a dozen young people stood before council asking for a new venue they could enjoy endless hours of play and good clean fun at with their many friends and other skateboard enthusiasts from across the Maritimes and the mayor and council ignore them completely.
This is in a nutshell what is wrong with this town:
the management sucks; the politicians suck.
The 'community' would do well to grasp the term ROI - return on investment .. as explained to Michael Beal, treasurer/bean-counter at the Town Hall this week... Michael's wondering if he still has a job when the entity "Town of Tantramar" takes over here.. I guess only time will tell Michael.
Should I really need to keep reminding people that investing in a new concrete youth skatepark makes good sense and is the right project to build here now... in fact it was the right project 10 years ago but the well-paid minions in Town Hall wasted money on decorations and nonsense instead [$10,000 flower pots, still shaking my head...]

1875 - 2015 ~ Sackville's Methodist Church in the Heart of Downtown - Does The Downtown Have a Heart Anymore?
Cultural gaffs and cultural removal... its ongoing...
Razing of N.B. war memorial sparks outrage - The Globe and Mail
University removing war memorial library and later on "Preferred developer" Lafford's destruction of old historic church paved the way for more 'smartgrowth' and less culture, beauty, architectural history and heart in the centre of Sackville New Brunswick because money matters and history doesn't matter here.. that's why they've been re-branding themselves from "Sweet Little Town on the Marshlands" to a "New Kind of Small Town" that seeks to create a new culture, new society, and global community.
Some locals such as long time Town Councillor Virgil Hammock, retired Art Professor had hoped to save the church... but it was demolished for apartment housing by Lafford, a wealthy builder.. who of course used the land to profit and prosper.
The Town went on to spend $2 million on ponds.. they didn't feel a cultural community centre built in the renovated church was a viable option here.

Sackville New Brunswick's Speciality? "Coviet Obediance Training: Its Not Just For Dogs"
When you greet your local fellow dog owner in the 'hood [who is the one and only "Town of Sackville Tourism Manager"] from your front yard but instead of engaging in friendly small talk and speaking back to you the little man pulls out his phone and stands there filming you with his camera phone held up [this is at least the third time this strange, unfriendly cyborg has done this in public with me].
So Ron, is this how you successfully run your town and gather "community feedback" ? It would appear at this point after a decade in this town to analyse things that Ron is just another well trained doggo with a feminist university professor for a wiferoo. Said wiferoo has already hollered at me to move away from town.... perhaps from her comfy well paid ivory tower perch she thinks her opinion actually matters to me; it doesn't. The problems should be clear by now that working efficiently for the coviet regime is the best way to financial compension in this enclave of chattering class.
In Ron's mind this must be his time to shine as the perfect little foot soldier for the elite and their agenda.
In the old days this unqualified stooge would not have got a foot in the door for such a key town position with zero soft skills for the job... because he mumbles a lot and lacks empathy and industry.
I think after too many years at the trough that he should be replaced by someone with some spunk - perhaps by Julia Feltham - who does seem to have strong people skills and is just wasting away at the Coviet Commons for the Rothschild Bankers doing startup stuff.
I'm not the boss though ---Jamie Burke CAO is the boss. But the truth is that both these little guys have a reputation for clobbering free speech.. and that's just not good "coviet"ville.. you don't like what I have to say, so what?
So much for the brochures that enticed folks in with the motto "sweet little town on the marshlands" of the previous decade... today's brochures promote "A Different Kind of Small Town" .. different from sweet? I reckon that's what they're trying to say eh?
