"Tantramar Skate Park Project" for the town youth, since 2013 [reposted]

Long-time Town Councillor Bruce Phinney advised me a while ago that the 'unnamed clique here' refer to me a "low class", unimportant, "trouble maker" ..

I say fuck you to that clique...

thanks Bruce for the intel...... Facebook is no longer available... why?  https://www.facebook.com/tantramarskatepark/

Talking up this project tonight with Erica Butler..
So stay tuned.  Butler moved here in 2020 so she's not aware of the history of advocacy and how far back it goes.. not just with me.. but with others like Duncan in the 80s... concrete skateparks make great towns... so let's do it! What is stopping us?

Bending To The Will Of A Very Vocal Shrill Minority in Halifax Nova Scotia

Advancing the 'agenda' with more preferential treatment and land grabbing ... government-funded handouts, gibsmedats, endless payouts, etc.. now...

purchasing property for $1 for a native project...

amazingly the name of the city has been changed to Kjipuktuk by just a small number of people... why?

𝐌𝐢'𝐤𝐦𝐚𝐰 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝
The Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Centre now has land secured for its new centre. HRM sold the property at 1940 Gottingen Street to the Friendship Centre for $1. A staff report had appraised the old Red Cross site at $11.7 million.
The Friendship Centre said the new location will allow it to better serve the more than 7,000 Indigenous people living in Kjipuktuk, aka Halifax.

"In October, the federal government gave $28.8 million to help with construction costs of a new Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Centre. Another $4 million in federal money for the project was announced in May 2022."

Millions and millions of dollars for just over 7,000 people is called special interest pandering... in an age of homelessness, hunger, poverty, unemployment and many people struggling to get through their days due to inflation and strife... this sort of building project is very wasteful, unnecessary and corrupt but the taxpayers are never asked about these expenditures are they?  You could build a lot of housing for $35million... for low income people struggling.
Where's the government strategy to address this very real problem in Halifax and elsewhere?  There isn't one.  Its about priorities and the importance of beneficial spending.

The historic Halifax of old is disappearing and the 'woke east coast city' is here.... pity.

Founder of Halifax... Edward Cornwallis [status was removed by the outrage culture] - white Europeans are offensive.. but.. more importantly, we all need to understand the vocal shrill minority and their demands, needs, wants, desires, requirements... that's the new Canada Trudeau has brought:

Tantramar Landowners ..: Great Skate Parks Make Great Towns ~ Tantramar Skate Park Project

Tantramar Landowners ..: Great Skate Parks Make Great Towns ~ Tantramar's 2...: What they did FOR THE YOUTH in Kentville Nova Scotia... we will be able to achieve here as well.. Its in our nature to build... to create.. ...

Well done Mayor Sandra Snow in Kentville Nova Scotia -- this is a really great skatepark project and its very much something the Town of Sackville needs to do for its growth and development... maybe our new Mayor Mesheau could pick up the phone and give Sandra a call to find out how it gets done!?  I could not get Mayor Higham's attention on this project during his term, unfortunately...
I phoned up Sandra Snow this past year and she was kind enough to talk me for a while about their project and much more... including life in politics.

I found Mayor Sandra Snow to be very intelligent, honest, positive, kind, concerned, engaged, cheerful and dedicated -- she won her second term as Mayor by acclamation...  her background work history is aviation military.. she is a very accomplished and capable woman!  Thanks Sandra Snow -- the youth for many years to come will benefit from your legacy project -- a great concrete skatepark!

This was the project board artwork rendering I saw when I last visited their town a few years back...
Sandra's Facebook page has a video of the completed project, check it out here:

More at her page here:

Shifting focus to creating things of beauty,
benefit to many townsfolk, visitors,
and living life fearlessly is needed in 2021...
will this town meet that challenge?
This great project is long overdue...
and I'm just the messenger for the youth.
I'd like to see this happen here.. soon.
Positive messaging from Dr. Shiva:

Tantramar Skate Park Project --- for the youth, for tourism, for fun, for freedom..
TELL YOUR FRIENDS... Join us .. we're making something pretty amazing happen in a sleepy little eastcoast university town... we're making history.

Since the 80s youth have been trying to get the attention of the town council and mayor about a great concrete skatepark project.. isn't it time they actually listened to the young and the active and the freedom loving skaters?  I think it is.

Sackville's Lazy Town Employees: Pryde & Cole

I've been promoting and helping to push forward a project since 2013.. the youth here presented before Town Council and Mayor that summer.

Since then the town hired Matt Pryde.  Matt is a pleasant fellow but has no ability to get a project promoted or planned.. his partner in crime is Todd Cole - an equally unhelpful character.. my guess is together they probably make enough money that in 3 or 4 years of their combined pay a new skatepark project could be built.. from what I have witnessed they should be fired and their salaries put towards this concrete build.

Youth don't ask for much.. they should be able to enjoy a venue that is decent.

Planning takes effort and it takes a passion for doing something constructive.

"Tantramar Skate Park" project is a well thought out and exciting idea.

Plan, do, enjoy.  Since I have spent countless hours promoting this project, putting up posters, talking to citizens and making a real effort for a bunch of youth who are so often overlooked it is heartbreaking I will would propose that Sackvillians take this idea seriously and make an effort to build something of a legacy here...

Other places do it.. why can't we?

Mr. Cole likes to ignore this and Mr. Pryde thinks it is some sort of joke.  Its not.

I recently discovered Matt's new project is another child's playground this time in the Silver Lake park area ... so far the town has 're - done' a park in the centre of town for $500K and now another $100K plus for another playground make-over on the other side of town.. imagine that? Going out of their way to ignore " TSP ".

Left a comment at local Bruce Wark's facebook page on this matter recently:

"Matt Pryde at one point made a plea to Kraft Canada for money for a great skatepark to the tune of $250K but for some reason he appears to have abandoned this project in favour of something else.. I do have to ask why Matt Pryde has been so unhelpful on this project.. he arrived from Nova Scotia after the youth here presented in 2013 before mayor and council in the summer... Matt wrote: ".. Dufferin Street Skate Park - Kraft Heinz Project Play ://kraftheinzprojectplay.com/.../dufferin-street-skate-park/
Aug 9, 2017 - The Grand Prize winner will receive $250000 towards a recreational facility ... Sackville, New Brunswick, a town of 5,500 people, has a long and proud ... the Southeast New Brunswick portion of the Trans Canada Trail passes" .. removed content.. probably the money spent on the new "welcome to new brunswick" sign would have paid for a brand new playground.. its not a shortage of money; just their ideas on how to spend it that baffles me.. the 'greater good' is not necessarily what we think it is.. huh? taxpayers' money is spent arbitrarily and its difficult to determine which level of govt is the messiest at balancing the books.. as you know .. and no one else seems to really gives a rat's ass about covering .. since 2013 or so there has been a call for a real concrete skatepark... Tantramar Skate Park .. but Matt Pryde chuckles at me when I bring up this project .. I have zero respect for the people at the town hall, esp Phil Handrahan, and never attend the meetings at the town hall .. so I appreciate that you cover it so well."

The new highway replacement 'welcome' sign doesn't say welcome anymore... imagine that? Wonder how much it cost?

Tantramar Skate Park - Facebook ... grassroots project for the youth, since 2015

Youth presented to town council & mayor in 2013 about a new skatepark [concrete] and they were completely ignored.. I support their project & promote it.
I just don't have a huge budget for posters... so I try to create / recycle / reuse .... #fitness #active #tourism #culture #fun #youth #outdoors #skate

Tantramar Skate Park - youth project - facebook .. check it out since 2015

Yikes.. looks like Sackville Commons has finally got involved
in a youth park idea .. just not the skatepark venue build ..
what is the 'commons'? its a hub for 'social engineers' and meddlers..

chalk "Tantramar Skate Park" around town ...
a good way to let others know...

So while the 'community organizer' in the middle on this photo was helpfully meddling & nefariously acquiring the town's old fire hall for Lafford Realty in a sweet but shady little deal in 2015 some of us grown-ups were planning a youth centre/skatepark project and we have quietly continued on .. although we don't tend to get in the newspaper for some odd reason .. imagine that?  Meddlers love to get to your kids and 'indoctrinate' them with their 'social justice' and 'social enterprise' and  'social engineering' schemes.. they can't leave alone the minds of youth... weird.

Mature parents know that a venue skatepark build is a great investment in youth.. no 'meddlers' needed....

Check out here ... link to facebook page  .. youth presented before town council and the mayor in 2013 for a new venue .. since then .. not much has changed... we hope to change that with "Tantramar Skate Park" project .. could be amazing.. as it stands just a half pipe addition will be added after five years of advocacy.  Sad.

UA Canadian Piping Trades .. UACanada.ca

A little club of fearmongering, nay-sayers who are anti-oil and gas and noisy about it reside in this university town... this is a pity.  Great industrial opportunities exist in Canada today ... namely "Energy East" ..

Check out UACanada on Facebook...

Recent post on Facebook .... "Energy East is a 4,500-kilometre pipeline that will transport approximately 1.1 million barrels of crude oil per day from Alberta and Saskatchewan to the refineries of Eastern Canada and a marine terminal in New Brunswick. There is an important choice before us all. That choice is about where we get the oil we need and how we choose to transport it. Energy East makes sense and this is why the majority of Canadians support the project.
Energy East is expected to create over 14,000 direct and indirect full-time jobs each year across Canada during development and construction alone.
During the first 20 years of operation, Energy East is expected to sustain nearly 900 full-time direct jobs across Canada, and thousands of indirect and induced jobs in all provinces along the route.
To show your support to Energy East Pipeline, please send a letter to your MP, a Tweet with the hashtag #EnergyEast or a Facebook post.
Please sign in and register to www.energycitizens.ca. The goal is to generate 100,000 responses. Your support is important and will make a difference! "
